Color Me Old School

Dress Urban Renewal | Leather Jacket Members Only | Shoes  Stan Smith Adidas | Sunnies Ray Ban

Thank god for girls weekends and the little bit of sanity they add to my life. I headed to Chicago this past weekend for a long weekend filled with shopping and fabulous brunches - let me just say it was much-needed. What would we do without our best girlfriends? One of my weekend projects was to begin the process of redoing my wardrobe. A very taxing and expensive one I've come to discover. This project essentially means ridding it of almost all color, I'm much more comfortable with a more monochromatic color(less) palette. The green detail on the Stan Smith Adidas was as colorful as my purchases got. I bought all of the pieces in this outfit this weekend and by total chance they happened to turn out to be a totally kick ass and cool girl combination.

I'm all about dressing up all day everyday, including to class. However, many bloody feet and skin tight skinny jeans later, I've learned my lesson that as a college student I should incorporate a little practicality into my looks. Without compromising my style, obviously. I purchased this dress a size up to give it a little more breathing room and also to give it a more casual vibe. I have to say, it's absolutely one of the most comfortable things I've ever put on my body, a day of classes was nothing. No counting down the hours until I good go home and change into something a little more comfortable. I threw on the leather jacket because, well, it's finally leather jacket weather and they're kinda my staple. I'm so obsessed with this new Members Only one I picked up at Urban Outfitters, amazing quality and so f#cking cool. The Stan Smiths were the perfect way to dress down the look and make it more day time appropriate. I chose not to over accessorize this look, simply because I didn't think it needed much else. I was going for a laid back look when I put it together and anymore would be too much. Definitely a new go-to outfit.
